On May 12, 2023 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement on training and scientific research between the School of Materials Science and Engineering - HUST and SMS group took place.
Through this MoU, SMS group will help MSE-HUST students gain advanced technical knowledge so that the students can meet the increasing demand in steel production.
According to the cooperation agreement signed and spoken at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pino Tese, Chief Sales Officer for region India and Asia Pacific, SMS group, mentioned that SMS plans to organize teaching sessions for students of MSE - HUST with various current and emerging technological topics. A collaboration between SMS experts and MSE students - HUST will be formed to discuss research and conduct various practical seminars.
SMS has shown interest in recruiting excellent graduates from the MSE School for the group's campuses in the Asia Pacific region. To achieve this goal, SMS invests in the development and training of top final year students and graduates of MSE – HUST by facilitating and sponsoring one candidate from final year to do the graduation thesis at the SMS office in Ho Chi Minh City with a period of 3 months. In addition, it is planned to sponsor a 4-month training program in the India and Asia Pacific region for MSE students with the highest results in the final and concurrent HUST-SMS exam. Every year, SMS will sponsor scholarships for 5 excellent students of MSE – HUST, along with agreement validity.
On behalf of the MSE leadership, Dean Huynh Trung Hai thanked SMS group for visiting and signing the cooperation agreement. The practical cooperation between the two sides will contribute to supporting students with scholarships to encourage study, opening up many internship and job opportunities in an international environment for students of the MSE-HUST. In addition, the cooperation also helps the two sides to jointly solve practical problems from enterprises related to metallurgy and metals.
