Three bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements were exchanged between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and four major South Korean companies and governmental institutions at the Vietnam-Korea Business Forum held on June 23, 2023.
The Vietnam-South Korea Business Forum was one of the important events taking place within the framework of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s three-day State visit to Viet Nam. The event was co-organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, HUST President, together with representatives of over 500 businesses from the two countries, warmly welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President of South Korea to the Forum.

At the end of the Forum, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang exchanged three Memoranda of Understanding with Korean strategic partners in the presence of the Minister of Planning and Investment of Vietnam and the Minister of Industry and Trade of South Korea.
Three MOU signed with 04 Korean Partners includes: 1. MOU for IPEF-linked Korea-Vietnam Future Automotive Industry Technical Cooperation with Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) and Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH);
2. MOU with Seoul Semiconductor VINA Co., LTD: Providing high-quality human resources training; supporting research and academic activities through equipment sponsorship activities and technical support;
3. LG Innotek Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd.: developing highly-qualified manpower, technical visits & internship programs, student scholarships including graduate training scholarships, innovation and joint research activities …
Currently, South Korea has remained Vietnam’s largest investor and third-largest trade partner. About 9,000 South Korean businesses are operating in all 63 provinces and cities across Vietnam. Both countries are set to raise their bilateral trade to $100 billion in 2023 before hitting $150 billion in 2030.
Collaborating with Korean strategic partners including leading corporates and governmental organizations such as KEIT, KATECH, LGITVH, SSV companies allows HUST to gain access to advanced technology, cutting-edge research, and industry expertise. This collaboration can enhance the university's research capabilities and provide students and faculty members with valuable opportunities to work with state-of-the-art technologies and learn from industry professionals.
These international cooperation activities continue to promote the internationalization of education and research and expand internship and job opportunities for students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
