On October 20, 2023, an important collaboration unfolded as Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and Mr. Tran Hoai Nam, Deputy General Director of PTSC, joined forces by signing a comprehensive cooperation agreement. This pact encompasses scientific research, technology transfer, and the development of human resources.
Choosing the locale of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the signing ceremony underscores HUST's commitment to energy transition and renewable energy. This strategic decision aims to align HUST's training programs with the current needs of businesses, particularly major players in the industry.
PTSC, a key member of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, stands at the forefront of providing technical services for the oil and gas industry and renewable energy in the region. Mr. Le Manh Cuong, the General Director of PTSC, highlighted the significant number of PTSC's current employees who are HUST alumni.
In recognition of HUST's longstanding tradition, prestige, and influence, PTSC leaders commend the university as a technical institution of great repute in Vietnam. HUST aspires to position itself as a pioneering and innovative research university within the Vietnamese higher education landscape, with a notable standing in the regional and global context.
The collaboration agreement outlines mutual support in scientific research, technology transfer, and the training and development of human resources. Notably, the agreement includes provisions related to job opportunities for HUST students in the oil, gas, and energy industry. HUST commits to supporting and prioritizing the introduction of candidates and students for PTSC's recruitment, while PTSC provides opportunities for HUST students to visit, learn, and practice within its units, gaining insights into the working environment of the oil, gas, and energy industry.
This collaboration marks the initiation of extensive and enduring cooperative endeavors between the two entities. Among the inaugural activities is PTSC Corporation's provision of a financial support package for HUST students. Following the signing ceremony, the HUST Technology delegation toured significant sites, including the PTSC M&C Construction Site area, PTSC Downstream Port, and the offshore wind power project construction site.
