Hanoi University of Science and Technology and National University of Singapore (NUS) signed an MoU with National University of Singapore (NUS) on January 26. This action marked the beginning of a long-term relationship between the two sides in promoting intercultural exchange, education and technology.
At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of HUST shared the vision of the university to become the leading one in research, engineering and technology. Besides, the core target of the university is contributing to the development of economic, security and higher education in Vietnam.
Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh stated: “HUST highly appreciate the cooperation with NUS. We are committed to high-quality training to attract talented students.”
Vice President of NUS, Prof. Aaron Thean, affirmed: “HUST is a strong partner of NUS. I look forward to cooperating successfully for many years to come.”
As a leading public technical university with more than 40,000 students and around 1% most talented students nationwide, HUST thrives on our continuing contribution to socio-economic development and the training of high-quality human resources for our nation. Thousands of engineers graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology are currently working in key scientific and industrial fields.
The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a national public collegiate and research university in Singapore. It is one of the highest- rated universities in the world, ranked as the best university in Asia and top 11th globally by QS World University Rankings 2022.
The two universities expect to develop their common fields of strength; while creating opportunities for students and scientists to exchange knowledge, improve the quality of teaching and learning.
Promoting scientific research and learning for students and improving training skill for lecturers are priorities of HUST. In addition, the university specially dignifies energy transformation and digital transformation - two main fields of HUST and NUS.
According to the MoU, the two parties will cooperate in providing a variety of learning opportunities for students, enhancing opportunities for research in common fields, exchanging documents on science and technology. Organizing and participating in scientific seminars and conferences are included in the MoU.
At the end of the signing ceremony, representatives of National University of Singapore shared brief information about 3-1-4 model - a pilot program in new training.
This cooperation marked the diplomatic relations not only between HUST and NUS but also between Vietnam and Singapore. HUST and NUS tend to support each other in many common fields, especially in the strengths of the two universities.
