March 7th marked an important step in the cooperation between Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice President of HUST, and Mr. Ren Varma, Director of ACCA for Southeast Asia held a working session and signed an MoU.
ACCA, an international professional organization with a 120-year history, specializes in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, and Management. Its professional certifications enhance international academic qualifications and support the diverse development of communities through its network of 247,000 members and 526,000 future members across 181 countries.
During the session, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien emphasized HUST’s commitment to enhancing education quality in partnership with ACCA.The university regards ACCA as a reputable international organization, with ACCA’s certification recognized by many countries around the world. It is now time to fulfill the commitments of both parties in this cooperation.
He stated, “After reviewing the project proposal for training implementation, we are confident that HUST has the professional expertise and infrastructure to collaborate with ACCA effectively.”
Mr. Ren Vamar, Director of ACCA, expressed his honor that ACCA had the opportunity to cooperate with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
“We are very impressed with the development of the Center for Continuing Education, HUST. We commit to always accompany and support HUST students in particular, and Vietnamese students in general, contributing to building a potential young generation for the global labor market” - The Director of ACCA Southeast Asia affirmed.
The two parties discussed specific cooperation contents, including forms of support and specific activities for students. Plans for admission activities and training programs in 2024 are also discussed in the working session .
In the development phase of 2023 - 2025, with a vision towards 2035, Center for Continuing Education will research and implement cooperative activities in recruitment and training with partners. These activities will happen both in the region and internationally as well. Students registering for this training type will study ACCA certification courses in the first two years alongside bachelor’s degree programs at HUST.
Center for Continuing Education aims to create an international academic environment with practical application and tangible value for learners in Accounting, Auditing, and Management. The Center will collaborate with ACCA to offer certification courses at different levels for high school graduates and those already engaged in the labor market but in need of this certification.
