Hanoi University of Science and Technology strengthens ties with Chungnam National University (South Korea)

Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), hosted a reception for the delegation of leaders from Chungnam National University (CNU), South Korea on January 29. This meeting opened up many future cooperation opportunities between the two universities.

HUST President of HUST visited South Korea and signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on cooperation in Training and Research with Dr. Jin-Sook Lee, CNU President on October 30, 2023. Moreover, the two parties were unanimous in establishing the CNU-HUST Global Center at CNU and the HUST-CNU Global Center at HUST. The inauguration of the CNU-HUST Center in Chungnam further solidified this partnership.

The two parties’ collaboration not only signifies the connection between prestigious universities but also enhances their brand reputation in related research fields. It also promotes cultural exchange and internationalization.

During the reception, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh affirmed: "I believe that the cooperation between HUST and CNU will not only strengthen our relationship in research and training but also significantly contribute to global knowledge development."

Prof. Jun-Woo Lee, Vice President of CNU, expressed his honor in visiting HUST: "We are delighted and fortunate to collaborate with HUST - the leading university in science, engineering and technology in Vietnam."

The newly established Center is located in the ITIMS building, serving as a hub for breakthrough research, academic exchange programs, and collaborative cultural initiatives between HUST and CNU. The Center is expected to enhance learning opportunities for students, allow them to gain deeper insights into the Korean culture and head to  be a global citizen.

According to the strategy between the two universities, they agree to launch modern facilities and equipment to support joint training and research activities, exchange Vietnamese-Korean language and culture. They will also develop training programs and scholarships to promote exchange of young talent between HUST and CNU. Additionally, they will organize international cooperation events, conferences, cultural and academic exchanges.

Furthermore, the two sides will focus on attracting excellent researchers and experts of HUST and CNU into the Center to improve its research quality.
