At the signing ceremony, Prof. Le Anh Tuan, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, stated that the greatest success of the cooperative relationship between the two sides in the past period lies not in the number of scholarships or the number of recruited students, but in the fact that both sides have together built a journey to develop highly practical and high-quality technology human resources. From modules co-designed with the enterprise to research topics solving practical technological problems - all have created an ecosystem effectively connecting training, research, and enterprise.

Prof. Le Anh Tuan emphasized: "We expect Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Samsung to jointly form a model cooperation paradigm between a technical, research university and a global technology enterprise (FDI) in Vietnam."

According to the development strategy of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, one of the University's important tasks is to strengthen corporate and international cooperation. Samsung Electronics Vietnam has been one of the University's close partners over the past 14 years.

The collaboration between the two entities has achieved remarkable results, specifically: Over 4,000 HUST students have participated in the Training Program supported by Samsung; hundreds of outstanding students have received scholarships from Samsung; more than 500 internship opportunities have been created; and notably, over 4,000 HUST alumni have joined Samsung, becoming engineers, experts, and managers directly contributing to the corporation's development. Samsung has also accompanied the university in building facilities, supporting modern computer labs for training and research; sending many experts to participate in teaching and guiding students; and accompanying the academic, scientific research, and innovation programs of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

If previously the focus was on training and developing human resources, the two entities have now gradually implemented joint research activities, co-developing technology, and solving the enterprise's practical problems. In addition, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Samsung Electronics Vietnam will focus on developing the Samsung Talent Program, rolling out postgraduate scholarships, providing master's degree training for Samsung engineers, developing the Samsung Lab, and expanding joint research projects in the fields of AI, multimedia, information security, and digital technology.

The cooperation program between Samsung and universities in the 2026-2028 period will be implemented in the areas of: Training, research, resource development, scholarships, internships, and recruitment. In particular, the total scholarship value of nearly 17 billion VND—including Samsung Talent Program (STP) scholarships for postgraduates worth about 150 million VND/scholarship and for undergraduates worth 75 million VND/scholarship—will be awarded to outstanding students majoring in information technology, AI, electronics and telecommunications, multimedia, information security, etc.

Vietnam is entering a new development phase, in which science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are identified as the most important growth drivers of the economy. In that context, universities not only have the task of training human resources but also must become places that generate new knowledge, new technologies, and new tech enterprises. Hanoi University of Science and Technology is pursuing the goal of becoming a leading research university in Asia, while building an innovation ecosystem that closely links universities, enterprises, and society. To realize that goal, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has close and prestigious partners accompanying its development; Samsung Electronics Vietnam is one of those partners.
