This afternoon (7/3), at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien - Vice President of the University and Mr. Ren Varma - Director of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Southeast Asia, held a working session and signed a memorandum of understanding between the two entities.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is an international professional organization in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, and Management. ACCA's professional certifications are globally recognized and enhance international academic qualifications, acknowledged by many countries around the region and the world. With a 120-year history of formation and development, ACCA has contributed to the diversity of the community through its network of 247,000 members and 526,000 future members in 181 countries worldwide.
Speaking at the working session, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien stated that Hanoi University of Science and Technology and ACCA have committed to enhancing the quality of education. The university views ACCA as a reputable international organization, and ACCA's certifications are recognized by many countries globally. It is now time to fulfill the commitments of both parties in this collaboration.
"After hearing the project proposal for training implementation, we believe that Hanoi University of Science and Technology is fully capable in terms of professional competence and infrastructure to collaborate with ACCA, implementing training programs and certifications effectively. Hanoi University of Science and Technology has authorized the Continuous Training Center - the unit responsible for implementing professional certification training courses - to carry out this cooperation," Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien emphasized.
Appreciating the warm reception of Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Dien, Mr. Ren Varma expressed honor in ACCA's collaboration with Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
"We are impressed by the development of the Continuous Training Center, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. We pledge to always accompany and support students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, as well as Vietnamese students in general, contributing to building a potential young generation for the global labor market," affirmed the Director of ACCA in Southeast Asia.
During the working session, both parties exchanged specific cooperation content: Support mechanisms; specific activities for students; plans, enrollment activities, and training anticipated for the year 2024.
In the development phase of 2023 - 2025, with a vision until 2035, the Continuous Training Center is researching and implementing collaborative enrollment and training activities with partners in the region and internationally following an international cooperation model. When registering for this training type, students will attend ACCA certification courses in the first two years concurrently with bachelor's degree programs at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, where the credits and courses of the ACCA training program are negotiated and recognized by international partners. Students meeting the requirements can choose to continue their studies at partner institutions to receive a degree, or they may directly enter the domestic labor market.
With the goal of creating an international academic environment, emphasizing practical applications, and delivering tangible value to learners in the fields of Accounting, Auditing, and Management, the Continuous Training Center is implementing Accounting and Management training programs in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to offer certification courses at various levels for high school graduates and individuals already engaged in the job market seeking ACCA accreditation.
