From August 28 to 30, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) facilitated the enrollment process for Cohort 69 freshmen. Whether familiar or new to the campus, the students were filled with pride and excitement, eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
This morning (August 28), from the parabolic gate on Giai Phong Street to the Tran Dai Nghia gate, HUST campus was bustling with laughters as new students and their parents arrived for enrollment. Faculty, staff, and volunteers were ready to welcome the newest members of the HUST family.
At Ta Quang Buu Square, parents reminded their children to prepare all necessary documents before lining up for enrollment, their eyes shining with pride at having a HUSTer in the family. Meanwhile, students excitedly made new friends and connected on social media to form their college groups.
Joyful beginnings at HUST
Coming from various provinces, the freshmen of the Department of Electrical Engineering at HUST shared a meaningful enrollment day.
Le Quang Huy, a freshman majoring in Automation Control Engineering, visited HUST for the first time by bus from Nghe An. “At first, I felt anxious traveling alone, but my excitement about enrolling at HUST quickly eased my worries,” he shared.
Another freshman, Le Minh Tan, woke up at 4 a.m. to travel from Thanh Hoa to Hanoi with his family. “I was overwhelmed!” he laughed. “HUST is so big that I almost got lost. I heard students use Google Maps to navigate, but luckily, there were many enthusiastic volunteers to help.”
Nguyen Quang Hai Anh, a Multimedia Engineering freshman, and Nguyen Duc Muoi, a Electronics and Telecommunications freshman, both took the bus to HUST from different locations. Hai Anh, who is from Quang Ninh, rented a place in Hanoi as soon as he learned he was accepted. “I frequently visited HUST during my stay, exploring the campus I had long dreamed of,” Hai Anh shared. Meanwhile, Duc Muoi took a bus from Hà Nam at 6 a.m., arriving at HUST after an hour. “I’ve been to Hanoi before, but today feels different because I’m now officially a HUSTer!” Muoi said. Brilliant days at HUST
Hoang Thi Hong Nhung, a freshman majoring in Automation Control Engineering at HUST, aims to prove that girls can excel in technical fields and aspires to earn a scholarship, participate in extracurricular activities, and run for class president.
Nhung's rival for class president, Nguyen Nhat Khanh, was admitted based on his Cognitive Assessment exam scores. He aspires to participate in sports and media clubs while pursuing a role as a class representative to enhance his leadership competencies.
Chasing dreams across 1,700 kilometers
Freshman Tran Quang Minh from Ho Chi Minh City traveled over 1,700 kilometers to enroll in the Electronics and Telecommunications program at HUST. His grandparents and mother came from Hai Duong to celebrate this special occasion. Minh’s aunt, Assoc. Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Hai, is an alumnus of HUST and now teaches here. She has inspired Minh to become a student at HUST.
