On September 16, at the National Assembly House, Party General Secretary To Lam visited the exhibition booth of Hanoi University of Science and Technology at the exhibition of outstanding achievements in health care and education.
The event was attended by Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, along with leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, as well as more than 1.2 million party members at sites nationwide.
HUST proudly presented seven signature products in scientific research, innovation, and training to the Party General Secretary and national leaders. These achievements reflect years of effort by the University’s scientists, lecturers, and students, while also demonstrating the institution’s digital transformation and international integration strategies.
Presenting to the national leaders, Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang – President of HUST – emphasized the University’s unwavering commitment to science and technology-based education and research, alongside expansion into strategic fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, automation, green energy, biotechnology, and health sciences. He also highlighted the role of mathematics and fundamental sciences as the backbone for STEM education. Particularly, HUST fosters practice-oriented training and inspires entrepreneurial innovation among students. These are key steps toward positioning HUST among Asia’s leading higher education institutions.
Listening to the University’s presentation, Party General Secretary To Lam affirmed that HUST is pursuing the right strategic direction.
Among the seven products showcased, the eHUST digital university ecosystem stood out. This “Make in Bach khoa” platform, developed since 2020, integrates multiple functional modules and modern technologies, available in both web and mobile versions. Currently, over 90% of the University’s operations are carried out daily on eHUST, serving more than 40,000 students and nearly 2,000 faculty and staff. Designed with an open architecture, the platform supports seamless integration of advanced technologies, forming a comprehensive digital ecosystem that includes HustVA virtual assistant and the eDiploma system for creating and authenticating digital certificates.
Another highlight was iSARS, an artificial intelligence-powered search and rescue system, which was deployed during Typhoon Yagi in 2024. It integrates real-time data, high-resolution images, and videos transmitted via ground, surface, underwater, and aerial unmanned systems. The multi-source data is collected and managed at a ground station, rapidly deployed on-site, enabling accurate field assessment and swift, effective emergency planning.
Other showcased products also drew wide interest from delegates, including: A breath analysis device for disease diagnosis; wafer chips for biosensors and gas sensors; Autotimelapse – an online automated solution for collecting environmental images and physical parameters; VEX robots; and rapid test kits for common infectious agents.
Immediately following the exhibition, Party General Secretary Tô Lâm and senior Party and State leaders attended the National Conference to study and implement four important Politburo Resolutions (XIII tenure).
