On November 5, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) to promote and develop cooperation between the two institutions.
Specifically, both parties intend to develop cooperative activities related to education and research, including: Exchanging faculty, scientists, and students; Developing training programs and fostering high-quality human resources; Implementing joint research projects and international academic publications; Sharing research infrastructure, learning materials, and scientific information; and Expanding into innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer activities.

At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, remarked: "Although our two organizations are geographically distant, we are close in vision and core values: placing science, technology, and people as the foundation for development. I believe that this cooperation connects not only our two institutions but also our two nations through intellect, trust, and a shared aspiration for a green, smart, and sustainable future."

This partnership marks a new beginning, opening opportunities for both sides to jointly create knowledge, develop technology, nurture the next generation of young scientists, and contribute to the collective prosperity of East Asia.
The HUST President expressed his desire to work with KIST to materialize the cooperation through substantive research projects, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and intelligent automation; New materials, sensors, and energy; Biotechnology, environment, and biomedicine; and Interdisciplinary research directions serving green and digital transformation.
"I believe that with KIST's strong research capabilities and HUST's spirit of innovation and creativity, we can jointly create works, products, and values of regional and international stature," emphasized Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang.

He expressed his expectation that the bilateral cooperation in the near future would become an ideal model for Vietnam-Korea scientific and technological cooperation: "I hope that after this signing ceremony, the staff of both sides will have deeper exchanges to concretize our cooperative activities starting next year."
Mr. Sang-Rok Oh also wished for the two units to jointly transform the words in the Memorandum of Understanding into projects, works, and practical results, spreading the spirit of cooperation between the two organizations and the two nations.
Also at the ceremony, Prof. Huynh Trung Hai, President of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, proposed the establishment of a HUST–KIST Research and Training Center at Hanoi University of Science and Technology to facilitate the exchange of culture, research experience, and training between the two leading higher education institutions of the two countries.
