Marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 – July 15, 2025), the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) organized the 2025 HUST Youth Summer Camp under the theme “Honoring History – Inspiring Aspirations”. The event took place over three days (July 15–17, 2025) in Nghe An province.
From Historical Legacy to the Youth’s Desire to Contribute
The HUST Youth Summer Camp is a meaningful annual event to recognize and honor outstanding Youth Union and Student Association leaders for their dedication over the past year. More than just a reward, it is also an opportunity for nearly 90 exemplary student leaders to experience, connect, and spread the spirit of “When you eat a fruit, think of the man who planted the tree”, fostering revolutionary ideals and reigniting the flame of dedication.
The journey to Vietnam’s central region—rich in revolutionary tradition—offered deep, emotional experiences, awakening pride and a strong sense of responsibility among HUST youth as they look forward to the future.
Led by Prof. Le Anh Tuan – Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the University Council, and Dr. Truong Cong Tuan – Secretary of HUST Youth Union, the camp brought participants to three “red addresses” – historical revolutionary sites in the central region. This special trip aimed to educate participants on Vietnam’s traditions of gratitude, nurturing respect for the generations who sacrificed for national independence.
Beyond honoring the past, the camp also served as a platform for Youth Union and Student Association members to network, participate in lively group activities, and strengthen bonds among university units.
During the camp, Prof. Le Anh Tuan conveyed heartfelt messages about the role, responsibility, and aspirations of today’s youth in the nation’s development.

“From the meaningful activities and sincere connections during this journey, each participant will carry forward values of gratitude, a drive to act, and an unyielding aspiration to grow. This will be the foundation for HUST youth to continue their pioneering, innovative, and globally integrated spirit—making practical contributions to the university’s growth in the new era,” Prof. Tuan said.
Honoring the Past – Igniting the Future
The camp began with a meaningful “return to the roots” journey, visiting three sacred revolutionary landmarks: President Ho Chi Minh’s homeland, Truong Bon, and Nga Ba Dong Loc. The trip was both an act of remembrance and an opportunity to instill patriotism, national pride, and revolutionary ideals in today’s students.

At Sen Village, in the solemn atmosphere of the “Offering of Achievements” ceremony, Dr. Truong Cong Tuan, on behalf of HUST youth, presented to Uncle Ho the university’s outstanding achievements in the 2024–2025 academic year. These included contributions in academics, scientific research, innovation, community service, cultural activities, sports, and international integration.
Notable achievements included: over 1,500 students participating in scientific research, 388 new Youth Union members, dozens of youth projects implemented in remote areas during the “Green Summer” campaign, and numerous international programs showcasing a dynamic and globally engaged HUST.
“HUST youth are committed to fulfilling the missions entrusted by the University Party Committee, working together to make HUST one of Asia’s leading universities, a center of excellence for training, talent development, and innovation,” Dr. Tuan affirmed.
Sowing Values – Reaping the HUST Spirit
After the emotional “return to the roots” journey, the camp continued with dynamic and practical training sessions. The annual Youth Union and Student Association activity report—presented by Dr. Nguyen Chinh Nghia and Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy—reviewed outstanding accomplishments reflecting the pioneering, creative, and united spirit of HUST youth.

Team 1: “HUST Culture and People” – portraying the defining qualities of HUST students: responsibility, creativity, integrity, and excellence.
Team 2: “Apathy in the Digital Age” – warning of the risk of losing human connection amid technology, promoting a message of mindfulness and empathy.
Team 3: “Tradition and Future Aspirations” – reminding young people to honor their roots while fostering innovation for the future.
Team 4: “Creativity and Global Integration” – delivering a humorous, innovative, and global-minded performance that won first place.
