HUST and Leipzig University Promote Entrepreneurship and International Cooperation

On October 1, at the C2 Conference Hall, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) hosted the Global Campus Forum 2025 with the theme "Promoting Entrepreneurship and International Cooperation through Higher Education."

The event attracted the participation of leaders from the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism (Federal Republic of Germany), as well as representatives from universities and businesses, alumni, and a large number of faculty and students from HUST.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Phong Điền, HUST Vice President , emphasized: "I believe that we can design and implement effective training programs that not only benefit our students, lecturers, and scientists but also contribute to the development of the international business community."

Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Phong Điền also expressed his hope that this cooperation will grow ever stronger and bring new opportunities and achievements for both sides.

The event took place as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany. Prof. Matthias Middell, Vice-Rector of Leipzig University, proudly reviewed the nearly 20 years of effective cooperation between HUST and Leipzig University. He highlighted in particular the international MBA program in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Development (SEPT), from which over 400 alumni have graduated and are now actively contributing to Vietnam's economic development and innovation.

Within the framework of the forum, delegates discussed university internationalization strategies, the role of the innovation ecosystem, and shared startup experiences from entrepreneurs who are alumni of HUST.

Notably, the event marked the official opening ceremony of the Saxon Science Liaison Office in Hanoi and the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between Leipzig University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The new MoU aims to expand international training cooperation for administrators and entrepreneurs and to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.

The new cooperation agreement creates opportunities for students, faculty, and businesses from Vietnam and Germany to access training programs, exchanges, and practical experiences in a global environment. This will contribute to training young, talented leaders with innovative thinking who are ready for international integration.

The event also facilitated numerous networking and exchange activities among delegates, partners, and entrepreneurs. It stands as a significant milestone, affirming the shared commitment of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Leipzig University to developing high-quality human resources and promoting entrepreneurship and international cooperation.

Expanding high-quality, internationally-oriented training is one of the key tasks in HUST's Development Strategy for the 2025-2035 period, with a vision to 2045. With a development strategy focused on international integration, applying regional and global quality standards, and selectively adopting successful models and experiences from prestigious universities worldwide, HUST is always ready to welcome renowned universities to engage in academic exchange, international cooperation, and the promotion of entrepreneurship—especially given HUST's own robust innovation and startup ecosystem.
