On March 12, Hanoi University of Science and Technology held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ajinomoto Vietnam Company to strengthen cooperation in education, research, innovation, and human resource development.

At this signing ceremony,  Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Ajinomoto Viet Nam has been showed their attitude of collaboration for development by focusing on the "Innovation Hub" establishment, which promotes research initiatives, opening up valuable opportunities for HUST students and faculty to intern, engage in academic exchanges, and work in a professional, dynamic, and innovative industrial environment. Simultaneously, Ajinomoto Vietnam gains access to high-quality human resources and cutting-edge technological solutions in Food & Wellness, Healthcare, ICT and Green, contributing to the sustainable development of their business. This commitment has also been contributing to strengthening the strategic cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan, leading to a deeper and broader partnership, effectively transforming scientific knowledge into real-world impact.

As a representative of HUST, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang – President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology emphasized: “As one of the leading technical universities in Vietnam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has long been dedicated to advancing education, scientific research, and technological innovation. We strongly believe that universities and industry must work closely together to transform knowledge into real impact for society.”

Through this partnership, HUST aims to strengthen joint research initiatives, generate new knowledge, and develop innovative solutions that bring practical benefits to society.

The President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology also expressed his belief that the Innovation Hub will serve as a collaborative space where researchers, students, and industry experts could work together, particularly meaningful as HUST celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2026.

Attending the ceremony, Mr. Tsutomu Nara - General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam Company stated: “In Vietnam, our company's purpose is “Contributing to the well-being of Vietnamese people and society through providing quality products and valuable initiatives with AminoScience.””

Mr. Tsutomu Nara asserted: “We acknowledge that Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of Vietnam's leading flagship universities in engineering and technology, widely recognized for its strong academic reputation both nationally and across the region. The University has also been a pioneer in building an innovation ecosystem that is closely connected with industry. Therefore, Ajinomoto Vietnam would like to continue expanding and strengthening our collaboration with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, particularly in activities related to innovation.”

Ajinomoto Vietnam strongly believes that their close collaboration will help bring valuable research outcomes into practical application, creating useful and meaningful products that contribute to the well - being of Vietnamese people.

Also present at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Chu Ky Son, Dean of Chemistry and Life Sciences (HUST), emphasized the excitement surrounding the Innovation Hub, highlighting how the initiative serves as a strong source of motivation for participants. The hub demonstrates significant potential not only in the food sector but also in biotechnology and environmental fields.

Looking ahead, the results generated from the hub are expected to be developed into innovative projects, transforming knowledge and new ideas into special contributions for the industry.

The collaboration and support were once again strongly affirmed by Mr. Tetsuya Osawa, Deputy General Director. Expressing Ajinomoto Vietnam's belief in HUST’s 70 years of innovative research, he shared his deep appreciation for the University's ability to bridge the gap between research and production, ultimately contributing to the betterment of society.

In the internationalization strategy of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, cooperation with Japanese partners is always identified as one of the University's key directions. To date, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has established cooperative relationships with over 50 Japanese universities, corporations, and enterprises in many key technology fields.
