This issue will cover the latest information about HUST's Subject Rankings by QS, the SAHEP project, HUST activities in student research, quality assurance, and external affairs.

HUST is ranked 360th in the world and 1st in Vietnam in the field of Engineering and Technology

According to QS World Ranking by subjects 2022, all five subjects of Hanoi University of Science and Technology have increased their rankings this year, ranked 1st in Vietnam and 300-450th in the world. 'Engineering and Technology' is placed at rank 360 in the world for the first time.
 

The World Bank's SAHEP project accompanies HUST’s autonomy

Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang affirmed that the Support for Autonomous Higher Education Project is a strong financial resource to support HUST’s autonomy process.

More than 900 HUST students participated in the 39th Student Research Conference to present nearly 300 research topics to 22 subcommittee councils, highlighting their projects’ originality, creativity, and practical applications.

Accreditation of two PFIEV Programs by the French Engineering Degree Commission

HUST keeps affirming its international standards in educational quality through the accreditation by the French Engineering Degrees Commission (CTI) for two PFIEV programs: Aeronautical Engineering, and Control and Automation Engineering. The appraisal has just been officially approved on Jun 29, 2022.

Dr. Michel Toulouse is the first foreign lecturer at HUST. In the interview with HUST’s newspaper, he impressed us with his modest appearance, friendly smile, and interesting stories about his career choice and his love for HUST and Vietnam. After his postdoc contract with the National University of Singapore came to an end, Dr. Phan Van Hoa decided to apply to HUST's School of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Hoa explained his reason for coming back to Vietnam: "I just want to serve my country.” Nguyen Trung Nghia, the valedictorian of the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, is now a guest researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and a Ph.D. student to-be at one of the Top 3 public universities in the US.
