On the morning of January 11, at Ta Quang Buu Square, the 18th Red Sunday blood donation campaign officially took place in a vibrant atmosphere warm with human kindness.

“Red Sunday” is not just a blood donation festival. It is a journey of compassion that has been persistently nurtured over the past 17 years. From the early days full of difficulties, the program has continuously grown, spreading to provinces and cities across the country with the companionship of the Youth Union – Student Association system, universities, and many social organizations. Over 400,000 units of blood have been received throughout that journey – each small drop contributing to holding back hundreds of thousands of lives from the fragile line of survival.

Continuing that proud tradition, the 18th “Red Sunday” returns with the message: “Donate blood to save lives – Your life and mine.” It is not just a slogan; it is a reminder of the invisible bond between human beings.

Alongside “Red Sunday,” the “Bach khoa – A Thousand Drops of Hope” program has also entered its 34th organization. This is an annual blood donation activity bearing the distinct mark of Hanoi University of Science and Technology students, maintained for many consecutive years with the spirit: each student not only studies well but also knows how to live responsibly towards the community. The combination of the two programs created a large-scale festival of kindness, where the spirit of sharing is multiplied, spreading from the lecture hall to society.

Besides equipping a solid professional foundation, the University always focuses on educating students about social responsibility and human values. “Bach Khoa students are not only professionally skilled but also know how to live for the community; that is the way for knowledge to be linked with the heart” – shared the Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Mentioning the voluntary blood donation movement, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh expressed pride that for many years, with the slogan “Bach Khoa – A Thousand Drops of Hope,” the University’s staff, lecturers, and students have actively participated in and mobilized blood donation to save lives.

This is a worthy recognition for tireless efforts and a source of encouragement for the spirit of voluntary blood donation to continue spreading strongly in the community.

At the blood donation area, Dr. Trinh Thi Anh Hang, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, emotionally shared her experience of donating blood: “Although I’ve wanted to donate blood many times, due to poor health, I only had the opportunity to give 250ml of blood to those in need today. I feel very happy and grateful. I hope I can help patients who need blood.”
