HUST Provides Emergency Support to Flood-Hit Regions

In the final days of November 2025, many provinces in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands struggled under historic flooding. Schools were devastated, many locations submerged, and the lives of teachers and students were turned upside down, with many children forced to temporarily stop going to school. Amidst these silent losses, the great HUST family turned towards their compatriots with deep sharing and profound solidarity.

Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Hanoi University of Science and Technology launched a campaign for all staff, lecturers, and workers to join hands in supporting the education sector in localities heavily affected by natural disasters. The call quickly spread, becoming a meaningful collective action, affirming the spirit of "HUST solidarity - sharing," a fine tradition of the University.

On November 28, through the National Union of Education of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education & Training, Hanoi University of Science and Technology allocated 500 million VND from contributions by staff, lecturers, and workers, sending it directly to the flood-hit provinces. This emergency support demonstrates a heart-felt desire to empower teachers and students at the epicenter of the floods to overcome this initial difficult period.
  The Party Committee, Board of Presidency, and Trade Union of Hanoi University of Science and Technology respectfully express their gratitude to every teacher, staff member, and worker who shared with all their heart. The University and the Trade Union will continue to support units still facing significant difficulties as soon as possible, ensuring that HUST's meaningful gifts arrive at the right place and at the right time.

Storms and floods will pass, but the love and hope kindled by our joining hands will remain. Hanoi University of Science and Technology believes that with the companionship of the HUST community and the entire society, teachers and students in disaster-stricken areas will soon regain stability, so that the sound of lectures may once again echo beneath the roofs that have just weathered these challenges.
