HUST Announces Decision to Recognize the University President for the 2025–2030 Term

This morning (November 18), Hanoi University of Science and Technology solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day. The ceremony took place in a solemn, warm, and emotional atmosphere. Teachers and students turned their hearts toward the sustainable values of the teaching profession, expressing gratitude for the silent yet immense contributions of generations of educators who have been attached to HUST over nearly 70 years of construction and development.

Alongside the activities to honor November 20, the University held a Ceremony to Announce the Decision recognizing the President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology for the 2025–2030 term. This is an important milestone for the University's development in the new period, as well as an occasion to honor collectives and individuals who have made significant efforts and achieved outstanding achievements during the school year.

Opening the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang - President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology - sent warm congratulations and deep gratitude to the currently serving teachers, as well as generations of educators who have been with the beloved university. In his speech, the President emphasized: "Hanoi University of Science and Technology is always proud to be a school of pioneering intellect – a place that converges, nurtures, and spreads the spirit of 'from knowledge - to creativity - for the Fatherland'."

He expressed pride in the University's tradition of pioneering intellect, affirming that every achievement today is created from the dedication, wisdom, and persistent contribution of the teachers. The President also shared important development orientations for the coming period, focusing on innovation, promoting science and technology, building a high-quality training environment, and expanding international integration, so that HUST continues to be a leading institution in guiding knowledge and nurturing aspiration and creativity for future generations of students.

At the ceremony, student Nguyen Kim Quy - President of the HUST Student Association, representing nearly 4,000 HUST students - conveyed congratulations and presented flowers to the teachers, expressing respect for those who have dedicatedly guided generations of students.

In a solemn atmosphere, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong awarded emulation titles and commendations to collectives and individuals with typical contributions to training, research, and community service.

In the past academic year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology had:

* 5 teachers received the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit;

* 1 collective received the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training;

* 6 collectives achieved the title of Excellent Labor Collective of the Ministry of Education and Training;

* 3 teachers received the title of Ministry-level Emulation Fighter.

Many other collectives, staff, and teachers received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements in the sector's activities on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

One of the most solemn moments of the ceremony was when the Deputy Minister of Education and Training presented the Decision Recognizing the President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology for the 2025–2030 term to Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang.

On behalf of the Ministry's leadership, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong sent congratulations to the teachers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, congratulating Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Quyết Thắng on receiving the Decision, and expressed his confidence in the strong development of the University in the coming time.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the University's spirit of autonomy; the transition from a "Trường" (School/College) model to a "Đại học" (University) model created new development space, contributing to streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of "Effectiveness - Efficiency - Efficacy". To date, more than 200,000 HUST engineers have gone everywhere, achieving many successes and gaining social recognition. "This affirms the training quality of HUST - a school that has had 5-6 teachers hold the position of Minister in various sectors," the Deputy Minister emphasized.

The ceremony concluded, leaving deep emotions in the hearts of teachers and students. November 20 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology is always an occasion to review the tradition of respecting teachers and valuing morality, reminding everyone of the noble mission of education, the love for the profession, and the responsibility towards generations of students. The University respectfully sends thanks to the teachers who have been and are attached to HUST. The beautiful sentiments of today's celebration will add motivation for teachers and students to continue the journey of innovation, creativity, and development in the coming years together.
