Experiencing Tet 2026 with International Students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology

On January 16, at Tran Dai Nghia Square, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) organized the Traditional Tet Experience and Cultural Exchange program with international students.

The event was a meaningful activity to welcome the Lunar New Year 2026, simultaneously creating a space for exchange and connection between Vietnamese students and international students studying at the University. The program attracted the participation of a large number of students, especially international students from many countries and territories such as Myanmar, France, Germany, Laos, Cambodia, Ukraine, etc. Thereby, the image of traditional Vietnamese Tet was introduced in a vivid, approachable, and culturally rich manner to international friends.
  With the spirit of integration – creativity – sharing, the program brought a rich series of experiential activities, helping students directly participate in and feel the traditional Tet atmosphere. Typical activities such as wrapping Chung cake (square sticky rice cake), calligraphy, tug of war, bamboo dancing, along with many folk games, created a bustling, warm space imbued with Vietnamese culture.

In addition, the program introduced traditional cultural beauties through ethnic costume performances, writing spring couplets, and decorating peach blossom branches for Tet, contributing to helping international students better understand the customs, practices, and the spirit of reunion of Vietnamese people during the New Year.
  Not only an occasion for cultural experience, the program also served as a moment to summarize and look back at the proud milestones of the old year; simultaneously opening opportunities for students and Youth Union – Student Association staff to connect, share, and spread the spirit of solidarity and enthusiasm – the core values of the Youth Union – Student Association organization.

Especially, this was also an occasion to show gratitude for the efforts and dedication of the Youth Union – Student Association staff throughout the past year, recognizing silent but meaningful contributions to the student movement and international integration. The same evening, the program continued with the Tet Greetings activity for Youth Union – Student Association staff and international students, closing a complete, warm, and emotional spring festival day.
  Through the program, the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to affirm its role as a cultural bridge, contributing to building a dynamic, humane, and integrated learning environment where domestic and international students accompany, bond, and develop together.
