PhD/Master Opportunities at NTU
Position Description
The Visualization and Intelligent Data Analytics (VIDA) Lab at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), led by Dr. Yong Wang, is recruiting self-motivated
3-4 PhD students for the August 2026 and January 2027 intakes. We seek highly motivated PhD students who are passionate about
human–computer interaction (HCI), human-centered AI and data visualization.
VIDA Lab offers a rigorous and supportive research environment with a strong publication record, close mentorship, and ample opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. Our members have received prestigious research awards, including the
IEEE VGTC Visualization Significant New Researcher Award, Google PhD Fellowship, as well as

Preferred Qualifications
• A bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, UX Design or other closely-related disciplines
• Ability and enthusiasm for doing interdisciplinary research, especially research at the intersection of AI and visualization/HCI
• Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript and other web-based programming skills) and strong problem-solving skills
• Strong English writing and speaking capability
• Prior research experience and high-quality research output in the field of data visualization, AI, HCI will be a plus.
